Windows 10 will reach “end of support” on October 14, 2025

Microsoft will stop providing free security updates, non-security updates, and technical support for Windows 10.

Here is what that mean and how it will affect you.


  • No security and updates:
    Microsoft will not release patches for newly discovered vulnerabilities. Your system will become more exposed to malware and targeted attacks over time.

  • Software and hardware compatibility:
    New apps, drivers, or peripherals will be designed for newer Windows versions and could lose compatibility with Windows 10 over time.

  • Compliance and risk:
    For businesses, running an unsupported OS will risk violating compliance requirements like security updates in order to open websites like your bank.

Options and recommended actions

As Windows 11 will require more resources, please ensure your computer complies with the minimum requirements:
supported CPU, TPM 2.0 & Secure Boot, 8 GB RAM, and 64 GB storage.
